We are here to help those who have had surgery for an ileostomy or internal pouch and live in North London and Hertfordshire postal districts or areas served by Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, Royal Free Hospital, St Marks at Northwick Park Hospital, Whittington Hospital, University College London Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital Trust, Finchley Memorial, The Lister Hospital and Watford Hospital.

North London IA has its origins in the Enfield Branch which started in 1961 with just 5 members. Brenda Baines was its first Secretary with Mr Richardson, of Chase Farm Hospital, as President. In 1969 the Enfield and Barnet Branches merged with Renie Alderman as Secretary and in subsequent years all the Branches in North London came together. Currently, Mr Steve Warren, of Chase Farm Hospital, is the current President.

North London IA Committee meets 4 times a year and organises an AGM in October or November. Meetings are held at The Cavell Hospital in Enfield. We’ll be delighted to meet you at any of the meetings – just contact Julia Spanswick, our Secretary, beforehand to say you’re coming (see Local Contacts page).
